has been significant population growth since 1991 mainly in Bideford and
Northam Parishes.
- The
Black and Minority Ethnic population of the area is about average for
Devon
but significantly lower than the national percentage.
- Over
30% households in Bideford and Northam are single person households – this
could rise over the next 10 years as much of the increase in households will
be as result of increased numbers of single person households
- Three
Areas are ranked in the most deprived 25% nationally, and much of the rest
are in the top 50% making it the second most deprived market town area in
Devon
.

People
There
are 2843 patients who are over 65 registered in the practice, representing 19.8%
of total practice population. This is 4.7% higher than the national average and
1.8% higher than the South West Regional average. It is clear that services
developed in the Practice have to accommodate the needs of our senior
population.

the Bideford/Northam Market Town Area the percentage of households that are lone
pensioner households is generally above the national average.
- Northam
parish is well above the
