Dr
Ford Announces his Retirement

Dr Ford began
working at the surgery on October 1st 1973.
Throughout the past 24 years he has been an integral force in driving BMC
forward and raising the bar of General Practice in the Southwest.
Indeed, Dr Ford was so enthused by developing the service provided by the
surgery that he encouraged the whole team to strive for the Royal College of
General Practitioners (RCGP) Quality Practice Award.
Through Dr Ford’s diligence and commitment to the health of his
community BMC became the first practice in the Southwest to be designated a RCGP
Quality Practice in 2001. In 2006,
again with Dr Ford’s enthusiastic hard work motivating the team, we became the
first practice in the Southwest to have that status reaccredited.

As Senior
Partner since Dr Cracknell left on April 1st 2006 Dr Ford has
continued to inspire his colleagues with his drive and energy.
His conscientious approach to all aspects of the job, clinical and
managerial, have made the surgery a better place – for patients and staff.
Most of all Dr Ford will be missed by all those who know him for his wry humour, his insight, his wisdom and his unfailing support. We wish him a very happy retirement, hopefully spent enjoying his family, world travel and numerous golf courses!
